<img className="hidden dark:block" src="https://mintcdn.com/bchic/ZdGEruqWexWyFlu9/images/changelog/staging.jpeg?fit=max&auto=format&n=ZdGEruqWexWyFlu9&q=85&s=a0241f77a88626fad32808d88be2a808" alt="Staging environment in bchic" width="1680" height="945" data-path="images/changelog/staging.jpeg" />

Two improvements that make working with bchic noticeably better day to day: staging environments for clean testing without skewing your data, and a completely reworked website overview that surfaces your key metrics instantly when you manage multiple websites.

### Feature: Staging environments

Test new tracking events without distorting your real data. Every website can now have its own staging environment – perfect for trying out events, integrations, or your CMP setup risk-free before they go live. Switching between production and staging happens directly in the website switcher, clearly indicated with a hint in the respective view. Your production data stays completely untouched.

Learn how to set up staging for your website in the [staging guide](/en/settings/staging-einrichten).

### Feature: New website overview

With multiple websites, you no longer lose track. At the top, two key metrics – total visitors and total views – show the trend across all your websites at a glance. Below, all sites are listed compactly and sortable by rising or falling trend, so you can instantly see which website is growing or declining – and jump directly to it with a single click.

## <span className="date-badge">June 2026</span> Google Search Console, Journey Analysis & Impact via MCP

<img className="block dark:hidden" src="https://mintcdn.com/bchic/cze8qLWXtsZi5ww8/images/changelog/gsc-light.jpeg?fit=max&auto=format&n=cze8qLWXtsZi5ww8&q=85&s=e1cb656bb248477ded3680495c8b2309" alt="Google Search Console dashboard in bchic" width="1920" height="1080" data-path="images/changelog/gsc-light.jpeg" />

<img className="hidden dark:block" src="https://mintcdn.com/bchic/cze8qLWXtsZi5ww8/images/changelog/gsc-dark.jpeg?fit=max&auto=format&n=cze8qLWXtsZi5ww8&q=85&s=371bfbbc60a241202e1888497bc11d9d" alt="Google Search Console dashboard in bchic" width="1920" height="1080" data-path="images/changelog/gsc-dark.jpeg" />

Our biggest update yet for reporting and AI integration. Impact now also measures how your changes affect load times and Google rankings, the entire customer journey becomes visually traceable – and both Impact data and Search Console data are now available directly through the MCP server. On top of that: granular role permissions, a configurable sidebar, and global filters with REGEX.

### Feature: Impact now measures Web Vitals & search performance

Change Impact Analysis takes the decisive step further. You set an impact marker on a release, relaunch, or campaign launch and now see its effect not just on traffic and conversions, but also on your **Core Web Vitals** and your **Google search performance**. Did the new hero image hurt your LCP? Did impressions and average position rise after the content update? Before/after comparison per marker, without having to keep three tools open side by side.

### Feature: Google Search Console integration

Clicks, impressions, CTR, and average position right inside bchic – no more switching over to Search Console. The dashboard shows all four core metrics as a toggleable time series with previous-period comparison. Filters let you narrow the data down precisely, for example to organic Google traffic. The data is therefore available for reports, impact markers, and MCP.

### Feature: Impact data & GSC now available via MCP

The most important step for our website intelligence vision: AI assistants can now retrieve **both impact effect data and Search Console data** through the MCP server. Ask directly in chat "How did last week's relaunch affect rankings?" or "Which markers hurt Web Vitals?" – and get the answer based on your real data. This turns the AI from a reporting add-on into an analyst that knows the full context of what your changes caused.

### Feature: Events visible in journey analysis

Path analysis now shows not just the page transitions, but also the **events** triggered along the way – directly and visually within the path. At a glance you can see *where* in the journey an event is triggered (e.g. an outbound link click on a PDF download or an OpenTable booking) and *how often*. Click a step to open the event details with the specific target URLs and their frequency. The step-by-step flow with drop-off rates, average time on page, and loop detection stays in place, and configurations can still be saved as a **saved journey** and reused.

### Feature: Country map

Geographic distribution at a glance. The countries view can now be toggled between a list and an interactive world map – color intensity reflects the share of visitors, with zoom and reset. Expand it to open the full-screen view: map and country list with visitor count, trend, and flags side by side, including search and pagination for the complete list of countries.

### Feature: Browsers, OS & versions

A detailed technical breakdown of your visitors. Toggle between browser and OS view, each with visitor count and trend. Drill down to the specific **versions** (e.g. iOS 26.5.0 vs. 18.7.x) – new versions are marked with a "New" badge, so you can immediately spot migration waves and compatibility-critical legacy versions.

### Feature: Roles & permissions

Granular permission management per role. Four roles – Account Owner, Manager, Member, and Viewer – can be configured with individual permissions: Administration, Team Editing, Website Editing, and Website Viewing. You can also control per role whether **MCP**, **Google Search Console**, and **sidebar customization** may be used. Toggle between the role overview and the detailed matrix.

### Feature: Sidebar Customizer

Configure the default navigation per role. Groups and items can be sorted, nested, renamed, and removed via drag-and-drop, with a live preview. A toggle lets you allow users of a role to customize their own sidebar – or set a fixed default configuration.

### Improved: Global path filter

The path filter now applies globally across all reports. Once narrowed to a page or section, the context is preserved across Dashboard, Journeys, Events, and audience reports.

### Improved: Search & filters with REGEX

A new "All" text search that filters across all fields instead of just a single dimension. You can also enable a **REGEX operator** per filter – for precise matches on URL patterns, campaign names, or event values.

## <span className="date-badge">April 2026</span> Consent Segmentation, Activity Timeline & Compliance Suite

The biggest update yet for the Business Intelligence section. Three new dashboards, a completely revamped Script Editor and deeper insight into data quality.

### Feature: Consent Segmentation Dashboard

Compare visitors with and without cookie consent at a glance. The new dashboard shows the consent rate as a donut chart, consent distribution over time and a percentile analysis of the time to accept (P50 through P99). The dimensions table lets you break down consent rates by country, device, browser, OS, source and channel.

Requires a supported CMP (Cookiebot, OneTrust, Usercentrics or IAB TCF v2) or manual activation via `data-track-consent="true"` in the tracking script.

### Feature: Activity Timeline

Discover when your visitors are active. The dashboard shows peak hour, peak day and the weekday/weekend split as KPI cards. Hourly and weekly distributions are available as a toggleable bar chart with previous period comparison. A weekly heatmap combines both dimensions for quick pattern recognition. The new conversion filter lets you narrow the view to sessions with specific conversion events.

### Feature: Web Vitals Dashboard

Core Web Vitals directly in bchic. Track LCP, FID, CLS and other performance metrics for your website without external tools. Can be enabled via the Script Editor under "Configure Advanced Analytics".

### Feature: Compliance Suite & URL Anonymization

New compliance page with an overview of all privacy-related settings. URL anonymization automatically strips sensitive query parameters and personal data from captured URLs before they are stored.

### Improved: Script Editor (Configure Advanced Analytics)

New central configuration page for advanced tracking options. Web Vitals, Consent Segmentation, third-party system integration and privacy settings can each be toggled individually without editing the tracking script manually.

### Improved: Filters & Segmentation

Filters now display active values and operators directly in the filter tags bar. The calculation for reader, dropper and bot segments has been reworked. A new `filterExcludeBots` parameter allows targeted exclusion of bot traffic.

### Improved: MCP Knowledge System

The MCP server automatically learns from interactions and stores website-specific knowledge via a `withKnowledge()` wrapper. AI assistants receive better context on follow-up questions without needing to re-query the data.

## <span className="date-badge">Early February 2026</span> Funnel Analysis, Payloads & 404 Tracking

The first update of the year expands the platform with essential conversion tools and deeper insights into technical events.

### New: Funnel Analysis

Understand where you lose users. With the new Funnel Analysis, you can define custom routes (e.g., Landing Page -> Pricing -> Checkout) and see at a glance:

* **Conversion Rates:** What percentage of users reach the next step?
* **Drop-off Points:** At which point do most users abandon the process?

### Added: Detailed Event Payloads

Your custom events now offer full transparency. You can view attached payload data (JSON/metadata) directly in the event overview ("Event Payload"). This allows for a granular analysis of specific user actions without detours.

### New: Automatic 404 Tracking

Find out when and where users land on error pages. Integration is incredibly simple:
Mark any element on your 404 page with the attribute `data-bchic-error="404"`. The system detects this automatically and lists the errors clearly in your events.

### Improved: Outbound Links Visualization

The display of "Outbound Links" has been completely redesigned. New visualizations provide a faster overview of click volumes and the distribution of external destinations.

## <span className="date-badge">December 2025</span> User Intent, Smart Paths & UX Upgrades

Our final major update of the year brings deep insights into user intent and powerful new analysis tools.

### Added: Sitemap Indexing & User Intent (Business Plan)

Understand not just *what* users do, but *why* they do it. With our new Sitemap integration, you can import your site structure and classify areas (e.g., Informational vs. Commercial). Alternatively, manually group visited paths to visually recognize visitor interests at a glance.

### New: Power Feature "Paths"

<video autoPlay muted playsInline className="rounded-lg" src="https://mintcdn.com/bchic/rclfB_dC0CkCblNE/videos/pfade.mp4?fit=max&auto=format&n=rclfB_dC0CkCblNE&q=85&s=317fb966d0b81871324cc86146dd2931" alt="Path in bchic Analytics Dashboard" data-path="videos/pfade.mp4" />

Path analysis has been completely overhauled. Instead of simple flows, you now see detailed metrics for every step:

* **Dwell Time:** How long do users stay on a specific path segment?
* **Loss & Loop Detection:** Instantly identify where users drop off ("Loss") or go in circles ("Loop"), signaling potential confusion.

### Added: Advanced Filtering & Grouping

<video autoPlay muted playsInline className="rounded-lg" src="https://mintcdn.com/bchic/rclfB_dC0CkCblNE/videos/grouping.mp4?fit=max&auto=format&n=rclfB_dC0CkCblNE&q=85&s=1c2943090ea7bd93148379fde624c778" alt="Grouping in bchic Analytics Dashboard" data-path="videos/grouping.mp4" />

The filter bar has become much more powerful:

* **Global Device Filters:** Quickly filter your entire view by Desktop, Mobile, or Tablet.
* **URL Grouping:** Group entire path classes (e.g., `/blog/*` or `/products/*`) to keep your analysis organized. Now supports Regex for maximum flexibility.

### Improved: UTM Campaign Visualization

Small detail, big impact: The UTM overview now automatically displays logos for known platforms (Instagram, Meta, ChatGPT, etc.), allowing you to identify traffic sources faster visually.
